The seven-year legal battle ended in late February. My attorney had never worked so long on such a simple project; however, my sisters refused to recognize the obvious and refused to honor the partnership's terms.
The property was settled, and my share was deposited on February 28. That afternoon I ordered the kit. The early May delivery was delayed by Virus shutdowns, but the kit arrived a few weeks late.
The kit arrives with the Body bolted to the Chassis and some of the larger interior panels installed. However, this is only done to simplify shipping. Step one is to strip the Chassis bare to start the project.
The one picture I forgot to take is the stripped chassis after disassembly and before the assembly started. This photo was taken at assembly school in Howell, Michigan, in January of 2019.
My plan was to document each step of assembly and invite all the friends who wanted to help with the build. The first plot complication was the virus. Instead of having time to spend with the project and then the 6' distancing hit. The busy season at work became extra busy because of shortages of employees and state regulations that complicated business practices.
I have been limited to working a few hours in the evening and 30 minutes before work. While the project is progressing starting and stopping is tough on the attention span.
The first part of the project is opening 20 boxes of parts and taking inventory. The kit has thousands of parts that include bolts and washers to seats and wheels. I didn't count the more than 1000 rivets I am sure the Factory Five staff is close,
